Dear Jeff, David, Mark, CJ, Zach, David, Jenny,
Scott, Cy, Adam, Robbie, et al,
On this Veterans’ Day I sincerely thank you former
hometown Laurel Locomotives now military members,
for your service to our great republic. Far too many
people take your sacrifice for granted, never
considering tomorrow could be any different than
today. Ignorance is bliss.
With selflessness, you voluntarily raised your right
hand and swore to “defend the Constitution from
enemies both foreign and domestic”. Those of us in
the political arena took a very similar oath and it
would be nice to say “don’t worry; we’ve got your
back.” Unfortunately, we don’t. In your absence, you
have been sold out. Socialists traded your freedom
for the false security of the massive federal
government our Constitution expressly prohibits. You
volunteered under the banner “let freedom ring”, but
you will return to a nation where wealth will be
redistributed “from each, according to his
abilities; to each, according to his needs.” You
recognize that quote, but sadly most
hope-and-changers do not and they think it is a
great progressive ideology of fairness with which to
run a government.
Saturday evening, November 7th, 2009, the US House
of Representatives passed legislation to nationalize
healthcare. Such a rape of American ideals is
blatantly unconstitutional but you either pay this
exorbitant tax increase or you go to jail.
Thirty states, including Montana, are preparing to
nullify this oppressive reach of the federal
government. Ideally the “The Montana Freedom of
Choice Health Care Amendment” should pass the state
legislature with the required two-thirds majority,
but it won’t. If the 2009 Montana House failed to
pass a simple States’ Rights Resolution (HR3) on a
party line vote of 50-50, don’t expect a single
liberal to vote for a bill that actually exercises
our States’ Rights. The power of liberalism depends
upon their redistribution of money…your money, and
their appetite for power is insatiable.
I’ve watched each of you Locomotives become a great
American and I know you don’t want us to
cut-and-run. Surrender is not an option and I trust
the voters of Montana will elect conservative
representation in the 2011 Session. To do anything
less will mean the death of our republic.
For freedom,
Krayton
