For the
third time television is not part of my life. The
first period was during my younger years when the TV
waves lacked the resolve to reach our ranch in
Ingomar. In those days the signal beamed from the
repeater with good intentions, but would get bored
crossing the vast gumbo flats and eventually just
wander back to the station having not been viewed by
anyone. (Electronics were primitive in eastern
Montana in the 60s.)
The second time was a ten year span when my kids
were younger. A simple snip of the cord forced my
children to occupy their idle time with other
things. Unfortunately, I wired the TV back together
to appease my news hunger during the first Gulf War.
Finally, last May my trophy wife and I became
discouraged that of the 100 channels beaming from
our satellite virtually none offered anything of
value. We disconnected our dish. Since we both spend
our days on our computers, all our news comes via
the internet, so now we have the luxury of
controlling who, what, when, and how many times we
consume news. In less than 30 minutes we can skim
happenings and log articles of importance. No more
repetitive, endless looping of news segments 15
times every half-hour, now our lives belong to us.
Today there is a greater danger than just a loss of
time if you are wired to network news; like Pavlov’s
dogs you are being trained to accept the progressive
movement. News pundits are spinning that last week’s
arrest of Michigan’s, Christian militia typifies the
dangers of people opposing nationalized healthcare.
Tea partiers must be demonized.
Later that week, to further your conditioning, news
stories broke of anonymous resignation letters
mailed to 30 governors. Without reference to
violence, or certainty of authorship, these letters
are being reported as further evidence of the
instability of tea party patriots. You are being
prepped. The news is spun purposely, and given the
seriousness of the crisis; I look for the
reintroduction of the Fairness Doctrine. We will be
told to keep the citizenry safe it is necessary to
exchange free speech rights for FCC oversight.
Little by little the noose gets tighter and tighter.
Over 200 years ago our founders declared the
greatest danger to freedom was not the American
patriot, it was the government. The purpose of the
US Constitution was to limit the powers of the
federal government. Unfortunately today, many
politicians elected to uphold and defend the
Constitution, have joined progressives intending to
destroy that very document.
True patriots, those the media portray as
extremists, know we will defeat this enemy, but not
with firearms. Our most effective weapon is the
states rights clause defined in the “Tenth
Amendment” of the US Constitution. The intended
balance of power between the state and federal
government can be re-established in this 2010
election cycle. Don’t let repetitive manipulations
by the progressive news media alter what you know to
be true. Turn off your television and vote freedom.
