Do you have the conviction to do
what is right even if it is contrary to what is in
your best interest? This isn’t a flippant rhetorical
question and I want you to answer as if the survival
of our republic depends on it, because it does.
Last month a friend expressed disgust with Montana’s
Senator Baucus. “I’ve supported him in the past
because he has been so good for farmers, but I can’t
tolerate him cramming socialized medicine down our
throats,” he said. My mouth dropped open when he
uttered the words; the phrase which is the death
nail of our republic. Let me explain.
From school board trustee, to county commissioner,
to state representative, every elected official
raises their right hand and in their oath of office
they swear to “support, protect and defend the
Constitution.” The oath is pithy and its greatest
impact is what it doesn’t say. It does not state, “I
will bring home goodies from the state or federal
treasuries to create jobs in my district.”
Unfortunately most elected officials immediately
discard the oath because it is fun, easy and
painless to be charitable with other people’s money.
Plus, it is the simplest way to purchase your
re-election.
Progressives mastered this redistribution technique
years ago and they have been feeding the little
people with your money for decades. In a very short
while, less than 50 percent of citizens will be
pouring tax dollars into the trough, as manna for
the majority feeding from it. The very second
taxpayers tire of supporting the lazy majority and
they put down the bucket, those who feel entitled to
live off the sweat of others erupt in protest. Have
you been watching the riots in Greece? After Great
Brittan, we’re next.
The Greece economy collapsed when their annual
deficit spending reached 11.5 percent of their Gross
Domestic Product (GDP). Greece proposed budget
tightening reforms to lower their deficit spending
to 9.3 percent of GDP. This prompted unemployed
Greeks accustomed to government freebies, to riot
and murder three bankers. Greek advocates for social
justice insist on being fed and will not take
bankruptcy for an answer.
Economists predict Great Britain will fall next as
their annual deficit to GDP will hit 12.5 percent in
2012. American’s can relax as we are currently
deficit spending slightly under 11 percent of GDP
and won’t skyrocket through the 12 or 13 percent
range until the free universal healthcare goodie is
fully implemented in 2013. This gives us plenty of
time to correct the problem…doesn’t it?
Politicians will stop being bottom feeding scum
suckers, chumming the masses with gifts from the
treasury, the very second it is not politically
profitable to do so. Until then, this
unconstitutional practice will continue. Do you,
John Q. Public, have the courage to refuse the
redistribution of wealth from others, thereby
nullifying the most powerful re-election tool of
progressives? Rather than farmers supporting
politicians promoting programs “good for farmers”,
veterans supporting those “good for veterans”, and
retirees supporting those “good for seniors”, how
about supporting politicians who are “good for the
Constitution”; the very document they swear to
“support, protect and defend”? The choice is yours
and the fate of our republic rests on your decision.
Vote wisely.
