I was
unable to attend Glen Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally
in Washington D.C., but I know readers of my column
who did. I anxiously await their first hand
accounts. Our nation was established by divine
providence, and she is on the verge of a spiritual
awakening. Progressives will try to snuff this
movement because anything which rightfully glorifies
God similarly lessens the importance of government.
To the left, all worship is to be directed to the
Department of Happiness in Washington D.C., but
while collectivists were busy drugging the masses
with freebies, the once-quiet majority has come
alive.
Faith, hope and charity, the themes of Beck’s rally,
are an enigma to progressives. It is charity which
confuses them most because they feel most charitable
when they reach into your wallet and redistribute
your money to anyone they feel is in greater need.
Progressives gained control of Congress in 2006 and
because their charitable mood quickly exhausted your
money, they became charitable with the future
earnings of your grandchildren. The national debt
was $8.2 trillion in 2006 and is $13.3 trillion
today. Since progressives just don’t understand true
charity, let me explain it as demonstrated by the
actions of a friend of mine named Tim.
I’ve mentioned Tim before and in real life he is a
John Deere representative. He grew up a Christian
farm boy in Missouri and he epitomizes the values
found in each of the one million patriots standing
around the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. A while
back, Tim was on a sales call in Culbertson,
Montana. He had just finished lunch and was walking
down the sidewalk when he spotted a $50 bill in the
gutter. (Apparently the energy economy in eastern
Montana is so robust fifty dollar bills blow around
like the infamous tumbleweeds in old western
movies.) He picked it up and guess what he did? Tim
hunted up the address of the Culbertson Methodist
Church and mailed the fifty to them. That is
charity, first fruits and tithing all rolled
together and because America is filled with millions
of people like Tim, she will survive.
Last Thursday I spoke at the Rosebud County Tea
Party Patriots meeting in Forsyth. It was my 15th
Tea Party of the year. You cannot comprehend the
boost I feel when I stand before a room of patriots
uniting to restore our country. At every rally there
are people from every walk of life; from cowboy to
carpenter, teacher to trophy wife and union laborer
to small businessman. More than anything else, they
want government to leave them alone. This drives
progressives insane. “Don’t they understand our
programs will help them?” They ponder amongst
themselves. “With enough tax dollars we could
collectively save everyone from poverty and
sickness…of course less a small handling fee to
cover administrative costs like executive green
fees.”
At our nation’s founding, John Adams warned us “Our
Constitution was made only for a moral and religious
people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of
any other.” For 80 years progressives have attempted
to remove God as the controlling authority of our
lives and He is banned from schools and many
government buildings. They are wrong. Through divine
providence we will once again be the shining light
of liberty to the worlds’ oppressed. America’s
restoration begins today, will you help us?
